Have you ever wanted to give those that help you a reward?? I am with you and would have loved to. but never really had the opportunity but always say Thank you and try to return help whenever possible. However there is one individual who devised a way to say thank you to those that have a heart to strive and care the most. Alfred Nobel created the Nobel Prize. He created the world as he strived to find the world he much desired full of people who simply wanted to improve society thru the knowledge they held.  On October 11, 2002 the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Mr. James Earl Carter. Mr. Carter was our 39th president of the United States. Atomic Day

Our history holds many things both good and bad. But one that occured on October 11th occured when 2 great men, one the president at the time and the other one of the smartest men in the world. Yes that would be Franklin D. Roosevelt and Albert Einstein. The discussion these two men had that day is not one that a peace loving man would have had. It seemed that Mr. Einstein had been thinking about a nuclear bomb , the atomic bomb and wanted to know if FDR would be willing to use the bomb if it was created. After the conversation Mr. President would go to work creating a group on individuals to study whether a nuclear bomb was needed or not.  History tells the story of the atomic bomb being created and dropped over the islands of    Hiroshima and Nagasaki  in Japan Oh the devastation that was to occur and many lives were lost and it most likely seemed the end of the world to others. Ballet Day

Image
February 7th is National Ballet Day. It is a day that should you choose you can head out and watch a ballet performance. There are great ones in New York City that are known well. There are also ballets that may be less known but great as well. Did you know that there are over 757 ballet companies in the United States.    Perhaps you have thought about doing ballet yourself.  While most classes are for young people there are some classes meant for adults to learn.  Today, may be a great day for you to watch a movie about ballet. There are a few that would be perfect. Ballet offers a chance to watch beauty in motion. It all seems so innocent from the ballet steps to the costumes to the music it all goes together so well. Take some time and enjoy the world of ballet.  shared at  facebook group blog it better -- comment

Hello-!!!!   Welcome to our new blog Annie's Home.  Today April 4th is the first day of this ublog but also my nieces birthday. Shout out to her. She is more like my daughter as her mother had mental illness and she grew up in our house. At our blog we will try bring awareness to mental illness.  Many other things happened on April 4th thru history as well.  A great man to many was shot and killed on this day in 1968. Dr. Martin Luther King was that man who stood up to take a stand and whose death inspires many today.  Another African American man celebrated this day after hitting homerun and tie baby Ruth's homerun record. His name none other than Hank Aaron.  April 4th is also national Carrot day. To celebrate let's have a piece of cake. 2¼   cups   whole wheat pastry flour (or half white, half wheat) 2   teaspoons   baking powder 1   teaspoon   baking soda 3   teaspoons   cinnamon ½   teaspoon ...
